Joel Langford is an elemental spectroscopy product specialist at Shimadzu Scientific Instruments. Prior to joining Shimadzu in 2018 Joel was a graduate student at University of California, Irvine and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Joel's researched focused on using synchrotron X-ray radiation to characterize liquid solutions. Prior to graduate school Joel worked at the Desert Research Institute as a laboratory technician where he mainly used TOC and EDX to characterize a variety of environmental matrices including soils, aerosols, and aqueous solutions. At Shimadzu, Joel concentrates his time on developing applications for XRF, EDX, ICP-MS, and ICP.
