Aaron Mendez, Ph.D., is currently the Director of Research and Applications of Ayalytical Instruments, Inc. Graduated from the University of People’s Friendship University in Moscow Russia with a B.Sc and a Master of Science in Physical chemistry in the period of 1970 – 1975. He also obtained a Ph. D. in Mass Spectrometry from the University of Wales at Swansea, UK in 1980 under the supervision of Prof. John H. Beynon, F.R.S. Started as Research Chemist of the Analysis and Evaluation Department of INTEVEP, the Research and Development Center of the Venezuelan Petroleum Corporation, PDVSA in 1981. He became the Leader of Expertise of the Molecular Characterization Group until 2003 when he emigrated to USA to work as Research Scientist and Project Manager in the instrument manufacturer industry, developing applications and instrumentation for the Hydrocarbon Processing Industry. Aaron actively participates in the D2 Committee of ASTM on Petroleum Products and Lubricants where he chairs the Section 4.M on Mass Spectrometry of the Sub Committee 4 on Hydrocarbon Analysis.
